Community Growing Scheme
Our Community Growing Scheme launched in spring 2024, delivered by Cornwall Grows CIC.

Cornwall Grows has a fantastic reputation for its work at Stratton School and its community educational programmes. The project is headed up by Cornwall Grows' founder Jess Creasey, who is herself mentored by Charles Dowding, the father of no dig!
There is something for everyone to get stuck into, and it's all FREE:
-
Veg on a Plate Weekly hands-on course, which supports participants all the way through from setting up their own veg patch to reaping their first harvest
-
Shorter micro-courses with specific themes from no dig gardening to successful composting
-
Climate in the Garden, informal drop-in sessions to learn and share skills and knowledge.

The courses take place at two sites, Stratton School and Binhamy Park, where there are plans to transform the retired play area into a beautiful community garden.

Spaces on the first Veg on a Plate filled up almost immediately, but the course will be available again several times over the next four years.

All courses can be booked via Cornwall Grows.

Short courses currently available (as of 8 May, 2024) include:
